About the New York State Theater
at Lincoln Center

Built by famed architect Phillip Johnson (AT&T Building & MoMA) in 1964, the New York State Theater has been home to the New York City Opera and New York City Ballet for four decades.

One of the grandest example of classical theatrical architecture in the country, the building houses a breatktaking Promenade -- where this year's pre-concert and post-concert receptions will be held.

The 2,800 seat proscenium stage was built to George Balanchine's specifications, where every seat in the house has full view of every dancer on stage, from head to toe.
